Terms of Service

Effective: 31 August 2026 · Last updated: 31 August 2026

By creating an account or using Waythread, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Waythread.

1. About Waythread

Waythread is a travel-sharing and community app. These terms govern your use of the Waythread app and related services.

For information about personal data, see our Privacy Policy. For content and behaviour standards, see our Community Guidelines.

2. Eligibility and accounts

Waythread is intended for people aged 18 or over. You must provide accurate information, keep your login details confidential, and use only your own account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.

You must promptly contact waythreadapp@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may require email verification or other security checks before allowing sensitive account actions.

3. Acceptable use

You must use Waythread lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

4. User content

You retain ownership of content you create and submit, including posts, photos, videos, comments, messages and profile information. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to share it.

By submitting content, you grant Waythread a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, format, display and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service and to show it to the audiences you choose through Waythread. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for limited technical copies, legal records or content already shared by others.

Do not submit content that you expect to remain confidential to a public area of Waythread. Private messages and private content are subject to the access controls described in the Privacy Policy, but no online service can guarantee that a recipient will not copy or share something they can view.

5. Moderation, reports and blocking

Waythread provides tools to report content or users and to block users. We may review reports, remove content, limit visibility, restrict features, suspend accounts or take other action when we reasonably believe these terms, the Community Guidelines or the law may have been breached.

We may use automated controls such as rate limits and access rules. We do not promise that all content will be reviewed or that every report will result in a particular outcome. If you report content, provide accurate information and do not misuse the reporting system.

6. Account suspension and termination

You may stop using Waythread and request account deletion through the app. We may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, protect the service, or enforce these terms.

Suspension or termination may prevent access to your account and content. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we may provide notice or an opportunity to appeal. Sections that by their nature should continue—such as content rights, disclaimers, liability limits and dispute provisions—will continue after termination.

7. Availability and changes

Waythread is provided as a developing service. Features may change, be suspended or be discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, that content will always be preserved, or that the service will be error-free.

We may update these terms when the service, law or our practices change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using Waythread.

8. Intellectual property

Waythread and its software, branding, design and original materials belong to Waythread or the relevant rights holder. Except for the limited right to use Waythread under these terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you. You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute or commercially exploit Waythread unless the law or we expressly allow it.

9. Third-party services

Waythread may depend on services from Apple, Supabase, Google, email providers and other third parties. Those services may have separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.

Waythread currently has no paid subscription or in-app purchase required to use its core features. If paid features are introduced, they may be subject to additional terms and Apple’s applicable payment rules.

10. Disclaimers

Waythread is a platform for user-generated travel and community content. We do not verify every user, recommendation, destination, event, message or claim. You are responsible for evaluating information and making your own travel, safety and financial decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Waythread is provided without warranties that it will meet every expectation, be continuously available, or be free from harmful content or interruptions. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Waythread will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of Waythread, user-generated content, third-party services, or your interactions with other users.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you additional rights. Courts in England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have to bring a claim elsewhere.
